Tremors Leave NY Traders Shaken, not Stirred
Early afternoon tremors from an estimated 5.8 magnitude earthquake located in central Virginia left New York-based traders with a mild case of the shakes.
Through the brief event, trading continued as normal on all of the NYSE Euronext markets despite of excitement, according to an exchange spokesperson.
Closer to the Hudson River, floor and electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange (Nymex) also continued unabted, says a Nymex spokesperson.
