HP Sharpens Timestamping with IEEE 1588

NEW YORK—As high-frequency trading continues to grow, hardware provider Hewlett-Packard (HP) continues to address timestamp discrepancies caused by “drifts” of system clocks, say HP officials.


“There is no way to correlate parallel events that happened on that same computer on different cores or on other computers that are networked together,” explains Dwight Barron, chief technologist for HP BladeServers.
