Microsoft Plans Supercomputing Initiative
Microsoft has announced a new Technical Computing initiative, which aims to provide supercomputing power, partly through cloud computing technology, to financial services industry users, among other industries, according to vendor officials.
Under the Technical Computing initiative, financial services users, particularly quants, will be able to model portfolios faster, more accurately and with a high degree of interaction with those models, according to Bill Hilf, general manager of Microsoft's
