Most of the deals announced last week, including Bank of America's acquisition of Merrill Lynch and Barclays picking up a few Lehman Brothers business units, seem to follow the same path of purchase, due diligence and then integration, used by JPMorgan Chase when it purchased Bear Stearns earlier this year.
