SEC's Market 2000 Suggests Changes To Data Dissemination

It's no surprise that the Market 2000 study released last month by the Securities and Exchange Commission stresses the importance of public dissemination of market data. That's the SEC's job, after all. But the long anticipated study of the U.S. equity market takes data distribution reform a step further, going so far as to recommend a fistful of specific initiatives for broader dissemination of equity data.
The study calls for the equity exchanges to open the book to reveal customer limit orders
