London Banks Take Tube Strike in Stride

London Underground maintenance workers staged a multi-day service disruption over the collapse of their employer maintenance firm, Metronet. The industrial walkout began at 6 p.m. local time on Monday, Sept. 3 and affected the Bakerloo, Central, Circle, District, East London, Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan, Piccadilly, Victoria and Waterloo & City tube lines. Only the Jubilee and Northern lines, which are maintained by maintenance company Tube Lines, remained unaffected.
