The day-long conference started with the keynote presentation on talent development from Arvinder Mudhar, CTO, investment banking technology for Merrill Lynch. Mudhar's firm, along with Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley, partnered with Thomson Reuters and University College London (UCL) to develop the first Master of Science (MSc) degree in financial computing (see story, page 1) as a cost-efficient alternative to the expense of poaching candidates with grid computing experience
