FactSet Eyes ‘Full Data Research and Production Environment’ for Alt Data
The new platform will allow users to evaluate alternative data sources available via the Open:FactSet Marketplace.
FactSet Research Systems has rolled out FactSet Data Exploration, a cloud-based platform for investment professionals to evaluate and explore alternative financial datasets on the vendor’s recently launched Open:FactSet Marketplace of alt data, using Microsoft’s Azure cloud platform.
Officials say the Data Exploration cloud platform reduces the need for firms to invest in costly infrastructure themselves to test alternative datasets—which is a “huge hurdle” to adoption of new datasets—while
