Capital IQ Bolsters Research, Estimates with Acquisition of TheMarkets for Buy-Side Play
Standard & Poor's Capital IQ unit has bought broker research platform TheMarkets.com for an undisclosed sum to combine the vendors' offerings and create a data, research and estimates business that Capital IQ hopes will allow it to compete for business among investment managers against larger rival vendors.
Over the next year, Capital IQ will integrate the vendors' platforms in a single repository of content and tools, but continue to offer separate front-ends to different users, says Randall
