Cost Pressures Refocus User Priorities


David Berry, head of market data global sourcing at UBS, said when the market began slowing down, it became more important for firms to know how to manage their inventory of users and data products, so that as firms trimmed headcount, they could make sure to eliminate products that were no longer being used.

"Step one is to know what you have. Step two is where you have a product installed, is it being used?" Berry said. "Market data is very specific in that you allocate a cost to each end user
