Reuters reported full-year results last week, showing revenues of £2.566 billion ($5.02 billion), beating its own guidance. Operating profit for the year was £256 million ($501 million), up 25 percent over 2005 when the vendor was more heavily impacted by restructuring charges.

In comparison, Thomson Financial reported full-year revenues of $2 billion last month, and a 13 percent rise in operating profit to $379 million.

Thomson's six percent revenue growth was almost in line with Reuters' 6.5
