Singapore Exchange Launches Indexes Unit
Officials say the index business will increase transparency and promote participation on SGX's markets.
SGX began beta testing a series of futures indexes last October aimed at issuers of exchange-traded notes, over-the-counter products and retail structured products, dubbed SGX Access Asia indexes and distributed via brokers, data vendors, software vendors, other exchanges and trading firms.
Officials say the SGX-branded indexes will provide greater transparency and raise the profile of SGX's services to investors, promoting greater participation in its securities and derivatives markets.
