Cboe Plans Amsterdam Venue Ahead Of Brexit

The exchange’s main office in Europe will continue to be London.

Mark Hemsley, president of Cboe Europe, pointed to Brexit negotiations as the motivation behind the decision: “Really because of the way the Brexit negotiations are progressing, or not progressing, we feel that it is likely that we will need an in EU trading venue to service the needs of our customers and our customer’s customers,” he says.  

The UK will have a transitional period of access to the single market, but a long-term agreement on how it will interact with the EU once it formally
