AFPIC 2014: Firms Must Be Ready for Infrastructure Demands to Surpass Legacy Capabilities, Panel Warns
Rising infrastructure needs will drive development of new technologies to support modernization.
One of the key drivers for infrastructure modernization is the changing way in which firms consume data, said Jeremy Green, Asia-Pacific regional co-chair at end-user association Ipug. "Currently, we have the terminal model, which serves the purpose of the vendors, as it's an internal distribution plant for vendor-aligned data. But now we also have extended points of delivery, like cell phones and iPads, so I wonder if the old terminal model is fit for purpose," Green said.
