New NYSE Data Fees Irk ‘Rebroadcasters’

Companies impacted by the new fees claim NYSE is trying to recoup revenues lost under the 'rebroadcaster' model.

Rebroadcasting users typically take space in a datacenter and connect to exchange feeds, then lease space in their server racks to individual client firms, to whom—providing these firms are permissioned NYSE data subscribers—the service provider can supply data, spreading the cost of its connection to NYSE across its client base. Until now, NYSE has not charged a separate fee for these firms to rebroadcast the data to clients.

However, in a proposal filed with the US Securities and Exchange

Only users who have a paid subscription or are part of a corporate subscription are able to print or copy content.
