EDM Council Names Chairman
Organization Revises Data Model
The Enterprise Data Management Council has elected Peter Serenita as chairman. Serenita, chief data officer of HSBC Group, has been a member of the EDM Council board since 2008.
As CDO, Serenita has been engaged with the impact of regulation on data management. As chairman, he plans to draw on his experience implementing data governance processes, defining data standards, establishing data control mechanisms and enhancing data quality.
The EDM Council hired experienced CDO John Bottega as a senior advisor in May. Bottega is now coordinating a new Data Management Capability Model (DCAM) for the organization. The Data Management Maturity Model (DMM), which the EDM Council had built in collaboration with the CMMI Institute, has been spun off to be solely administered by the CMMI Institute.
