BATS Swoops on Ex-Nasdaq's Concannon

Former Nasdaq exec Chris Concannon takes senior role at rival exchange

Concannon was most recently president and chief operating officer of electronic market maker Virtu Financial, prior to which he spent six years at Nasdaq as executive vice president of transaction services. Concannon has also served on BATS' board since March 2012.

Based in New York and reporting to chief executive Joe Ratterman, Concannon replaces William O'Brien, who left BATS in July following its merger with Direct Edge, where he was CEO, prior to which O'Brien spent three years at Nasdaq
