To Curb Volatility, Unify Markets, SIA Says

Joining the fray over market volatility that was rekindled by the stock market plunge last Oct. 13, the Securities Industry Association has proposed five steps to handle "episodic bursts" of volatility and restore investor confidence in the marketplace. The SIA's proposals call for greater coordination among equities and equity-related markets.
