In fact, the two companies began pilot-testing an IP appliance with investment firms last month. Seven financial services organizations have signed up for the tests, including a large equities firm, an exchange and a hedge fund.
The pilot tests, which are key to the new platform, will take between 30 to 45 days to complete, officials say. Following that, the vendors will make adjustments to the software during the first quarter of next year with a hardware refresh likely to happen in March.
