Asia Awards 2022: Best managed data service provider—State Street’s Alpha Data Service
State Street’s Alpha Data Service (ADS) won the category for the best managed data service provider in this year’s WatersTechnology Asia Awards, thanks to its end-to-end solution for managing data domains relevant to investment firms, allowing streamlined access to reference, pricing, benchmark, index, ESG and corporate actions data.
ADS maintains nine data domains―the security master, the index and benchmark manager, front-office analytics, securities pricing, ratings and classifications, issuer credit risk, fund and account attributes, holdings data, and trades and transactions―which collectively support the needs of the buy side. The service has continued to improve, with the addition of pre-configured data marts to support specific front-office workflows, the ability to create custom benchmarks, and enhancements to its multi-data vendor management processes.
The success of the ADS was marked by its adoption by seven new investment managers in the year prior to its submission to these awards. Partnerships have also been announced with the Rimes Technologies benchmark data service and LSEG/Refinitiv real-time pricing.
Looking ahead, ADS aims to add data providers that support real-time pricing and reference data for cryptocurrencies and digital assets. It will also continue to onboard new ESG data sources from both emerging and incumbent ESG data providers.
