AFTAs 2014: Best Mobile-Strategy Initiative—Pershing
While so many in the industry are focusing on how to best approach mobility, there was one firm that stood above the rest. Pershing and its NetX360 Mobile product received this year’s American Financial Technology Award for best mobile-strategy initiative, the company’s first win in the three-year history of the category.
Employees no longer want to be tied to their desks, and the opportunity to work on the go is one that every firm aims to offer its staff. But even that concept has evolved, as it’s not about being able to just work on the move, but to do so efficiently and seamlessly. Investors and advisors want to be able to take advantage of all the capabilities their mobile devices have to offer.
NetX360 Mobile offers clients compelling interfaces, quick access to information, self-service functionality, and opportunities to collaborate anytime and anywhere. The result is a product that not only empowers investors and advisors but also improves client relationships.
Pershing, a subsidiary of BNY Mellon, focuses on providing workflows tailored for the mobile experience. The firm does this through native development, something that it claims differentiates it from other firms’ mobile strategies. With two decades of experience in mobile development, Pershing’s goal is to customize the product so users can get all the benefits possible from their mobile devices.
As opposed to using HTML5, NetX360 Mobile is not a watered-down version of desktop software. The product is a standalone app that’s built specifically for mobile devices. That means users can take advantage of all the functions the device provides—such as voice interaction, camera and location-based services—thereby improving the overall customer experience and making the most of a user’s mobility.
With two decades of experience in mobile development, Pershing’s goal is to customize the product so users can get all the benefits possible from their mobile devices.
NetX360, which is supported by the Apple iPad and iPhone, Android, and Surface Pro, launched a new version in May for institutional investors in an effort to provide an even better mobile experience.
One enhancement made was Meeting Mode, which enables advisors to share their iPad with a client without having to worry that the client can access sensitive information. Push notifications were also developed to allow advisors to stay current with accounts.
